Over the weekend the Viking Track Team competed at the IESA Sectional Meet against 16 other schools. There were many great performances and personal bests! Highlights for the 7th grade girls' team include Anna placing 3rd in the 800m run and 4th in the mile. Tessa took 5th in High Jump. The 4x200m relay team Malaya, Lauryn, Chloe, and Diamond came in 5th. Highlights for the 8th grade girls' team include Damiya placing 4th in both the 200m dash and long jump. Nora placed 3rd in the 400m dash missing state qualifying time by just 3 hundredths of a second. The 4x200m relay team of Zemirah, Taylor, Nora, and Damiya took 3rd overall! Congratulations to the 8th grade boys for placing 5th overall as a team! Khyrii took 4th place in the 100m dash and qualified for state in the 200m dash by winning the race with a time of 24.47 seconds. The 8th grade 4x100 relay team came in 3rd and the 4x200m relay team can in 4th. Congratulations to the 7th grade boys' team that placed 3rd overall as a team! The 7th grade 4x200 relay and 4x400m relay both qualified for state by taking 1st! The relay team includes Kayden, Yayra, Haddin, and Adriel. Kayden also qualified for state in the 100m and 200m dash. He is the first Viking in school history to qualify for state in four running events! Best of luck to the 5 boys competing this Friday and Saturday in the IESA state meet!

The PE Department would like to celebrate the top performers for this year's Pacer! The top performers for 6th grade were: Shane W., Abe M., Drew W., Tony H., Addison D., Isabella P., and Malaya F. Top 7th graders were Ellis W. (with a new school record of 125!), Adriel G., Jonah A., Gavi A., Haddin E., Sunny D (with a new school record of 98!), Jazmin A., and Ariel A. Top 8th graders were Khyrii C., Matthew S., Olin Z., Nora G., Raelynn G., and Imani R.
