January-March The Earth and catastrophic events.

Our focus for this unit will be the dynamic Earth.  We will study the theory of plate tectonics, earthquakes, and volcanoes.  We will investigate the cause and effect relationship between plate tectonics and earthquakes and volcanoes. The students will participate in several hands-on lab exercises to  see first-hand, how our Earth works.  The unit will be split into 2 sections; The first being plate tectonics and earthquakes and the second section will be the study of volcanoes and the rock cycle.  The students can expect a unit test for each section.
